Creating a Dialer
To create an Internet connection to OneEighty you will use the "New Connection Wizard" that is supplied with Windows XP.

Click on Start
Click on Control Panel
Click on Network Connections
Click on New Connection Wizard
Click Next at the Welcome to the New Connection Wizard window
Select Connect to the Internet at the Network Connection Type window - click Next
Select Set up my connection manually at the Getting Ready window - click Next
Select Connect using a dial-up modem at the Internet Connection window - click Next
Enter OneEighty in the ISP Name field at the Connection Name window - click Next
Enter the local dial-up number for your location at the Phone Number to Dial window
Enter your username and password twice at the Internet Connection Information window - click Next (by default the three boxes should be checked)
Click on Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop - click Finish

You have now created a dial-up connection to OneEighty and placed a shortcut to it on the desktop.

Settings
To check the settings in Windows XP do the following:

Click on the Start button. Click on Dial-up Networking.
Choose the Network Connection you will be using from the drop-down list and click on Properties.
In the General tab make sure Use dialing rules is unchecked. Click on Configure for modem settings.
Set the Maximum speed at 57600. Click OK, click on Options Tab.
Select Display progress while connecting, Prompt for name and password, and Prompt for phone number. Click on the Security Tab.
Select Typical recommended settings. Click on the Networking Tab.
Select PPP Windows95/98/NT4/2000. Check Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and Client for Microsoft Networks. Click on Settings for PPP settings
Select Enable software compression. Click OK, click on TCP/IP, click on Properties.
Select Obtain IP Address automatically, and Obtain DNS server address automatically. Click on OK. Click Ok again.
