Creating a Dialer
- Click on Start, Settings, Network and Dial-Up Connections.
- Double-click on Make New Connection.
- Click Next.
- Click Dial-up to the Internet.
- Click Next.
- Click I want to set-up my Internet connection manually...
- Click Next.
- Click I connect through a phone line and a modem.
- Click Next.
- Enter the local access number.
- Uncheck Use area code and dialing rules.
- Click the Advanced button.
- Click PPP.
- Click None.
- Click the Addresses tab.
- Click Internet service automatically provides one.
- Select My ISP automatically provides a Domain Name Server address under DNS server address.
- Click OK.
- Click Next.
- Enter the user name and password of the account.
- Click Next.
- Enter OneEighty in Connection Name.
- Click Next.
- Click Yes.
- Click Next.
- Click Create a new Internet mail account.
- Click Next.
- Enter the real name of the user of the mail account.
- Click Next.
- Enter the 180com.net e-mail address of the account.
- Click Next.
- Make sure POP3 is selected under My incoming mail server is a...
- Enter pop.180com.net under Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server.
- Enter mail.180com.net under Outgoing mail (SMTP) server.
- Click Next.
- Enter the POP3 Account name (often the same as the logon user name).
- Enter the password that matches the above POP3 Account name.
- Remember password is optional.
- Uncheck Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
- Click Next.
- Uncheck To connect to the Internet immediately...
- Click Finish.
- Click on Start, Settings, Network and Dial-up Connections.
- Double-click on the OneEighty icon.
- Click on Properties.
- Uncheck Use dialing rules.
- Click on Configure...
- Select Maximum speed (bps); if a 56k modem, select 57600; if a 33.6k modem, select 38400.
- Check all boxes under Hardware features, but this may require changes if there is a connection issue.
- Uncheck Show terminal window.
- Click OK.
- Click the Options tab.
- Under Dialing options, check all boxes except Include Windows logon domain.
- Click the Security tab.
- Click Typical and select Allow unsecured password.
- Windows 2000 often requires either a logon terminal window or a logon script. To utilize the script:
- Download wtp.scp here.
- Save the file in the folder C:\WINNT\system32\ras.
- Check Run script and select wtp.scp from the drop-drop menu.
- Click the Networking tab.
- Select PPP; Windows 95/98/NT 4/2000; Internet under Type of dial-up server I am calling.
- Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) should appear and be checked under Components checked are used by this connection. If this does not appear, install it through the Install button.
- Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on Properties.
- Click Obtain an IP address automatically.
- Select Obtain DNS server address automatically.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Make sure the correct User name, Password, and Dial number are entered in the Connect screen.
- Click on Start, Settings, Network and Dial-up Connections.
- Double-click on the OneEighty icon.
- Click on Properties.
- Uncheck Use dialing rules.
- Click on Configure...

- Click OK to exit Properties.
- Dial into OneEighty.
